Time for a Terrific Tuesday

Hi everyone, plenty of choices today.  I hope there are a lot of activities that motivate you to keep your brain and body active.  If you feel like a quiet day, just find a comfortable spot and curl up with a book for awhile.  Don't forget to be kind and helpful to the others in your bubble.

Maths: Really make the most of this time to go over your basic facts.  Revisit the basic addition and subtraction fact links under Useful Websites.   And/or… Play a game of Twenty-Seven as another way to practise simple addition (under Useful Websites). And/or… Play What’s the Target Number? Today’s target number is 52 or 144 (you choose).  Now set a time (you choose) and quickly write on some paper all the ways you can think of to ‘make that number’, using any or all of the operations of + - x or ÷.

Exercise: Do the What’s your name? workout.  Use the names of your family members.  If you are feeling energetic use first names, surnames and middle names (click on image to enlarge). And/or… Click on the link to Jump Jam and scroll down to The Witch Doctor.

Be Creative: Make a chair with items you have around the home (e.g., books, paper, boxes.  See if your bear that was part of the Bear Hunt (or any soft toy) can sit in it. And/or… Think about what you can create with just a dot.  Get some paper, draw a circle.  Now you have a dot.  Make something out of your dot.

Read or write: Complete the Quirky Quiz #2 created by Mrs Alexander.  Link under Useful Websites.  You will need to record these on a piece of paper or on another doc.  Feel free to send to me or check the answers with family members. And/or… Listen to the rap of The Lorax under Useful Websites and create your own rap of a well known story.  It could be a fairy-tale, a legend or about a movie.  Any well-known story.  Entertain family members when performing your rap.
